Dušan Radović wrote and published the text “Captain John Peoplefox” in 1953 as radio drama. In Little Theatre this play was staged for the first time in 1988 under the title “Good Morning, Captain Peoplefox”. The adaptation was done by playwright Dragoslav Simić and director Oliver Viktorović. It was re-staged by Gorčin Stojanović in 2003 according to the text of Igor Bojović.

When you are telling a story, you need to be aware of the time in which you are addressing people. This performance is intended for children born in the 21st century and that is why this piece is subtitled "Captain John Peoplefox - in the New Millennium.”
Apart from slight shortening, the text did not undergo almost any other changes. It was only put in the context of modern times. But it was not done in a way that, for example, the pirates were given mobile phones. Because kitsch can actually be defined as the amount of commonplaces in the unit of time, and there is no greater commonplace than to put mobile phones in the hands of pirates. The modernisation of this piece consists of shifting the viewing angle, and therefore we have introduced an outside observer, eleven-year old contemporary boy, through whose eyes and emotions we perceive how the retired pirate Peoplefox would influence today's children. Through his reactions we perceive not only the universality of Peoplefox, but also the problems of the era in which we live. And the problems of those to whom we are telling this story.
