Children's scene

The Neverending Story is the most popular novel for children and young adults by the famous German writer Michael Ende. It was written as a children's novel, but soon after its publication in 1979, it grew into a novel for all generations and achieved a sensational worldwide success.

Dear children, have you noticed that adults set a series of boring rules - "tidy up your room, go to bed on time, you can't have sweets for dinner..." What a drag! But do you know that there is a place where these rules don't apply? Now you wonder: Where is it?

WOW! / Age: 3-5

This is a story about the visible and the invisible, the tangible and the intangible, the audible and the inaudible.
A story told through pictures and movement about discovering the world around us by creating a world in imagination.
A game where those two worlds merge and become life.

BAMBI / Age: 7+

Bambi the fawn was born in a big, deep, soft and fragrant forest. The first person seen by Bambi after being born was his mother. She helped him get on his feet, protected him from the harsh world and loved him with all her heart.

In a magical, not so big, but respected kingdom with a good reputation far and wide, there lived a silent prince. Of all the princesses in the world, the prince fell in love with the one whose attention was the most difficult to attract - a sad princess from a large neighbouring kingdom.

Some children are sometimes afraid of darkness, but darkness is also an ideal time and place to play - it is the world of bedtime stories, the world of dreams, scary and funny animals and monsters, the world of games played in the dark, the world of making up and imagination in which everything is possible.

THE SNOW QUEEN / Age: 6+

Once upon a time there was a magic mirror that turned everything beautiful into ugly, and everything good and happy into bad and sad. One day the magic mirror shattered into billions of tiny pieces.

Nikola got angry with his mum and dad and decided to go into space in search of other, better parents, in the company of his favourite toy.

Based on the picture book by Max Velthuijs, this play was created in the form of kamishibai theatre, that is, Japanese picture theatre, based on the art of storytelling and performed inside a small wooden stage.

CHILDREN'S ROOM / Age: 5+

Designed as a kind of “didactic tool”, made up of short musical theatre images, this performance is an ideal way to introduce the youngest audience to the world of opera.

A cyclone carried Dorothy from Kansas to a distant land, surrounded by a huge desert to the north, a huge mountain to the south, a huge chasm to the east, a huge sea to the west. That land is called Oz. In Oz, Dorothy meets Scarecrow without a brain, Tin Woodman without a heart, and Lion without courage.

Shakespeare's funniest comedy, adapted to the youngest audience, aims, above all, to bring world classics closer to children who, unfortunately, are less and less acquainted with the most important works of literature.

Once upon a time there was an ancient custom according to which only a boy could inherit the royal throne. Will the stolen prince and the lost princess manage to overcome all obstacles and change this unjust law? Who will be the new emperor?

Two sisters went to the market to sell a donkey. The older sister was riding a donkey, while the younger one was walking. When people saw them, they asked why the older sister was sitting and the younger one was walking. The sisters changed places.

COCONUT THIEVES / Age: 4+

Turtle and Dog, driven by hunger, are joined in the enterprise of stealing coconuts from rich and arrogant Leopard that usurped a coconut palm - a part of nature.

GULLIVER / Age: 3+

Inspired by some episodes from Jonathan Swift's famous novel "Gulliver's Travels", the authors refreshed this well-known story with a spirit of culture and art of the Far East, and used the story of a wandering sailor as a basis for dealing with the topics of peer violence,  understanding and respect for mutual differences.

CINDARELLA / Age: 5+

“Cindarella” by Aleksandar Aca Popović is one of the capital works of Serbian and Yugoslav literature for children. The decision to include this text in the repertoire of the Little Theatre “Duško Radović” has been made with the intention to dust off the forgotten classics of children's literature.

One night, Yellow Mum Cat leaves her kitten on the dock, in front of a large white ship that should sail from the port the next day. She wants her son to become a ship cat and see the world, instead of ending up as an ordinary butcher's cat. The next morning, the frightened cat is found by Violet, the captain's daughter, who names him Charlie.

THE TEMPEST / Age: 7+

The Tempest   has many layers:   romantic, metaphysical, autobiographical, philosophical, political, etc. Among all these possible  readings I find also a childlike view of the world (like in those unusual J. Cornell’s boxes with some nostalgic mini-worlds full of some childish fantasies).

“The Little School of Rock and Roll” was written some twenty years ago as a new rendition of “Rock and Roll for Children”, played in Boško Buha Theatre.

АSKA AND THE WOLF / Age: 6-12

That’s right, my dear little children, it's wool. We get that wool from a soft and warm animal - sheep. Its fleece is so soft and warm like a story written by Ivo Andrić in 1953. That story is entitled “Aska and the Wolf”. This is a story about violence and how to stop it.

Dušan Radović wrote and published the text “Captain John Peoplefox” in 1953 as radio drama. In Little Theatre this play was staged for the first time in 1988 under the title “Good Morning, Captain Peoplefox”. The adaptation was done by playwright Dragoslav Simić and director Oliver Viktorović.

The show is an ode to marionette, its beauty, subtlety and expressive possibilities. Circus acts, acrobatics, dancing on the wire, assembling, disassembling, juggling, etc. are in the foreground. The story seems to be a decoration. It is a story about love and about some crazy artists, that is - all of us.

UPSIDE DOWN / Age: 4-8

A modern interactive dance performance for children. “Upside Down” is a performance that offers to the youngest audience a unique encounter with contemporary dance.

THE STONE FLOWER / Age: 5-10

The famous Russian (Ural region) tale of damnation of those who search for treasure and wealth has been told in many ways.

Dalija Aćin Thelander, author and choreographer, has created an interesting interactive performance for children, which is presented in an unusual space that resembles a large white balloon/tent, which particularly contributes to the feeling of warmth, carefreeness and intimacy between the audience and the performers.

PINOCCHIO / Age: 4-10

The story follows the growing up and maturation of the wooden puppet Pinocchio (Jelena Petrović), which, thanks to a lot of sacrifice and love of Master Gepetto, manages to deal with the challenges of the world around him.

STRANGE LOVES / Age: 3-10

A musical for children, based on Aesop's fables, shows in an interesting way how opposites attract. The show was created on the basis of the original text written by Maja Pelević and directed by Đurđa Tešić.
